About Mina Shenouda

My path to medicine, and specifically to oncology, was driven by a deep desire to combine scientific inquiry with meaningful human connection. I was drawn to oncology because it’s a field of constant innovation where a strong physician-patient relationship is paramount. Helping patients and their families navigate the complexities of a cancer diagnosis with compassion and the most advanced care available is a profound privilege.

My goal is to provide personalized, exceptional care to patients with gastrointestinal cancer. I strive to advance treatment options in the field through clinical research, helping to bring innovative strategies from the laboratory to the clinic. At UF Health, I am excited to help build a leading GI oncology program and mentor the next generation of physicians. This means our patients have access to world-class care for years to come.

I want my patients to know I am their dedicated advocate throughout their cancer journey. I believe in clear, honest communication and making decisions together. I commit to ensuring you feel heard, understood and confident in receiving the best possible care.

My research focus is on developing innovative clinical trials for gastrointestinal malignancies. I am particularly interested in personalizing therapies for colon and rectal cancer, exploring novel drugs and biomarkers that can predict treatment response. I hope to translate scientific discoveries into more effective and less toxic treatments for my patients.

Outside of work, I enjoy running, biking and exploring local trails, which helps me clear my head and stay energized. I also value quieter moments, whether that’s reading a good book, practicing meditation or connecting with loved ones.
