About Dina Khalaf
My journey into medicine began in seventh-grade biology, sparking a deep desire to help others. While I was always drawn to science, witnessing a loved one’s battle with cancer solidified my passion for oncology. Compassionate, knowledgeable doctors inspired me to make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives, especially in their most vulnerable moments. During my training, I developed a strong interest in malignant hematology. I was captivated by the complexity of myeloid malignancies and the rapid advancements shaping the field, further deepening my commitment to oncology.
I find immense fulfillment in providing leading-edge, personalized treatments while actively involving patients in decision-making. My passion extends to medical education and research, where I strive to enhance leukemia management. What truly solidified my commitment was the profound relationships I formed with patients — walking alongside them in their journeys, offering hope and applying advanced therapies to improve outcomes. I remain dedicated to pushing the boundaries of leukemia treatment while mentoring future hematologists.
I treat every patient like family, ensuring they understand their diagnosis, treatment options and outcomes while respecting their autonomy. I remain thorough, educated and inquisitive to provide the highest quality care. It is an honor to support my patients closely, offering the best guidance and compassion I can.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and exploring Gainesville’s natural beauty. Recently, I’ve taken up learning to play the drums, embracing new challenges in my work and personal life.
