The University of Florida Hematology/Oncology Fellowship program fosters a community that values and respects diversity. We appreciate the wealth of differing backgrounds and experience that are embodied by our academic and local community. These differences include race, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, national origin, political opinion and the many other ways in which one might identify. We believe that it is these very differences that encourage the compassion, insight and creativity that are critical components of the social fabric and intellectual rigor of our fellowship. We are dedicated to a fully inclusive environment and nurture this commitment by inviting and welcoming individuals from diverse backgrounds, encouraging open and respectful communication, and offering education on topics such as implicit bias and systemic racism that may shape our interactions with one another and our patient care decisions.
