Dr. Martina Murphy, who is the senior associate dean for graduate medical education and designated institutional official in the UF College of Medicine, will lead professional development and mentorship activities for cancer researchers across the institute’s four research programs.
This project will use an artificial intelligence tool called OSCAR to automatically analyze CT scans from more than 2,000 lung cancer patients treated at the University of Florida. OSCAR measures muscle mass, body fat, blood vessel calcification and lung damage from routine scans without requiring additional tests, radiation or cost.
